Ga. Judge From Ahmaud Arbery Murder Case Leaving Bench

Chatham County Superior Court Judge Timothy R. Walmsley notified Governor Brian Kemp that he will leave the bench on September 1 after more than fourteen years of service, and confirmed to Law360 that he will join Robbins Alloy Belinfante Littlefield in private practice. Judge Walmsley was appointed to the Eastern Judicial Circuit by Governor Nathan Deal in 2012 and won full terms in 2014, 2018, and 2022. He presided over the 2021 trial arising from the killing of Ahmaud Arbery, one of the highest-profile criminal proceedings in the circuit’s history.
