Andrew Mason is a veteran attorney with more than a decade of experience representing clients large and small in high-stakes government investigations, internal investigations, and litigation. Former counsel for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Enforcement Division, Andrew has handled investigations concerning securities fraud, Ponzi schemes, unregistered securities offerings, insider trading, investment advisors, and broker-dealers. Prior to his time with the SEC, Andrew worked for two major international law firms in Atlanta and New York, representing clients in bet-the-company government investigations and related litigation. Andrew has guided clients through matters involving securities law, the False Claims Act, the Georgia Taxpayer Protection False Claims Act, antitrust, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the Georgia Fair Business Practices Act, money laundering, data security, and environmental matters. A skilled advocate, Andrew has handled investigations conducted by the SEC, U.S. Department of Justice, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Federal Trade Commission, U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, New York Department of Financial Services, and the offices of numerous state Attorneys General.
Andrew is an active member of the Atlanta legal community, serving as past Chair of the Atlanta Bar Association Criminal Law Section and a member of the Atlanta Bar Litigation Section, Georgia Bar White Collar Law Section, Federal Bar Association Securities Law and Qui Tam Sections, and the Cobb County Bar Association. An accomplished writer, Andrew has published numerous articles in legal publications, and he has served as a guest lecturer at the Georgia State College of Law.
Andrew is a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law, where he served as Articles Editor for the Georgia Law Review, graduating magna cum laude, and being elected to the Order of the Coif. During law school, Andrew served as a summer law clerk for Justice Keith Blackwell of the Supreme Court of Georgia and as an extern in the legal department of Delta Air Lines. Andrew earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in International Affairs from Kennesaw State University.
Andrew is dedicated to serving his country and his community. Andrew served in the United States Navy Reserve for eight years as an Intelligence Specialist, earning the rank of Petty Officer First Class. Andrew is also an Eagle Scout, active in scouting his entire childhood and adolescence. He has also served as president of his local PTA. Andrew lives with his wife and two daughters in East Cobb.
