Amol S. Naik advises clients on regulatory, governmental, and public policy matters. He helps businesses navigate state and local government, manage regulatory risk, secure governmental approvals, and advance major projects, particularly in the technology, digital infrastructure, energy, and telecommunications sectors.
Over the course of his career, Amol has served as an attorney, government affairs executive, and senior public official. This experience gives him a practical understanding of how legal, political, regulatory, and business considerations intersect. He helps clients develop strategies that account not only for the governing law, but also for the agencies, elected officials, community stakeholders, and public considerations that often determine the outcome of a complex government matter.
Amol began his legal career as a litigation associate at McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP before joining the firm’s nationally recognized political law and government affairs practice. There, he advised clients on legal and regulatory issues involving government and the political process. He later served as a Principal at Squire Patton Boggs, counseling corporations on complex, multijurisdictional regulatory and government affairs strategies.
Amol’s in-house experience includes a series of legal and government affairs roles at Google. As Corporate Counsel on the company’s Global Ethics and Compliance team, he helped develop Google’s political law compliance function and advised the company on laws governing corporate political activity. He later served as Senior Counsel for Public Policy and Government Affairs, supporting the regulatory and governmental strategy for Google’s data center expansion across the South. As Head of Eastern U.S. Government Affairs for Google Fiber, he worked with state and local governments to address legal and regulatory barriers to broadband deployment and helped advance municipal reforms later adopted nationally by the Federal Communications Commission.
In public service, Amol served as a Senior Advisor to the Mayor of Atlanta and was the City’s Chief Resilience Officer, a Cabinet-level position responsible for overseeing citywide sustainability and infrastructure initiatives. His service at City Hall gave him firsthand experience with the legal, regulatory, political, and community considerations that shape municipal decision-making and the approval of major projects.
Amol is active in civic and professional leadership. His service has included serving on the Board of the Atlanta Regional Commission, the Carter Center Board of Councilors, the American Council of Young Political Leaders Board of Trustees, and the Boards of Visitors of the University of North Carolina and Emory University. He is a Presidential Leadership Scholar, a German Marshall Fund Marshall Memorial Fellow, and a graduate of Leadership Atlanta and Leadership Georgia. The Atlanta Business Chronicle named him to its “40 Under 40” list of rising business leaders, and the Fulton County Daily Report named him one of ten Georgia attorneys “On the Rise.”
Amol earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law and his B.A. in American History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also earned a certificate in Financing and Deploying Clean Energy from the Yale Center for Business and the Environment, a joint program of the Yale School of the Environment and Yale School of Management.
