Firm Obtains 100% Settlement on Property Tax Claim

Robbins Firm attorneys recently assisted a client in its efforts to recover outstanding property taxes due on a recently purchase property. Under the agreement between the parties to the sale, the seller had agreed to pay any amounts for which it was proportionately responsible for reassessed or delinquent taxes due subsequent to closing.  Following closing, additional city taxes for multiple preceding years came due.  However, the seller refused to reimburse the buyer for these amounts.  After attempts to resolve the matter directly between the parties had reached an impasse, the buyer engaged the Robbins Firm to help it pursue its claims.  The Firm initiated litigation and, through subsequent negotiation with counsel for the seller, achieved a settlement for 100% of the buyer’s claim.
