Firm Drafts Amendments to Regulations regarding Charter Schools

Alexa Ross and Josh Belinfante played a major role in drafting the amendments to the State Department of Education charter school regulations adopted by the State Board last month.  The amended regulations are groundbreaking in Georgia.   They set benchmarks that must be met by local school districts that authorize charter schools to operate; require all charter school governing boards to receive specialized training; and provide a streamlined process for charter schools with documented academic success and fiscal transparency to renew, replicate, and expand.  The full text of the regulations is available at:  http://www.gadoe.org/External-Affairs-and-Policy/State-Board-of-Education/SBOE%20Rules/160-4-9-.06.pdf
